Summary

Infasco, a member of the Heico Companies, is the largest North American manufacturer and distributor of fasteners and fastener products. The Infasco Division is seeking an Electrical Process Engineer for its facilities in Marieville, Québec.

Responsibilities

  • Provides electrical and process control engineering assistance (Concepts, Designs, feasibility studies, Preventive Engineering, Process evaluation, controls programing support, Power Engineering support, etc.) to the Production and Maintenance Departments.
  • Reviews procedures to operate and/or maintain plant equipment, reviews safety procedures for equipment failures and repairs.
  • Reviews and modifies process control programing (PLCs), electrical maintenance practices and equipment performance. Recommends changes to the process and equipment as required.
  • For engineering projects: carries studies and defines scope of the project, designs, defines materials and equipment specifications, prepares estimates and budgets, liaise with Electrical Maintenance Foreman and coordinates construction and directs contractors and tradespersons, prepares Pre-Health and Safety Reviews operating and start-up procedures, trains operating and maintenance personnel.
  • Approves designs of new equipment and modifications of existing practices and processes, ensures adherence to government codes and regulations.
  • Ensures that electrical drawings are updated in coordination with drafting personnel.
  • Performs electrical engineering studies and conducts non-routine tests to troubleshoot faulty equipment or to solve technical problems.
  • Assists electrical maintenance department in troubleshooting programmable logic controls, electrical/electronic issues and IT related equipment issues.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Electrical engineering degree with a P.Eng. designation.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience.
  • Good working knowledge of installation, operation and maintenance of electrical/electronic systems, programmable logic controls and processing equipment.
  • Excellent computer and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and be available to travel out of the country when necessary.
  • Knowledge of PLC’s and distributed I/O’s; instrumentation, manufacturing processes; troubleshooting are considered an asset.
  • Experience with PLC controls; GE, Siemens and Schneider (Modicon) PLCs, sub-stations and power distribution 600v and above are also considered as an asset.
  • Experience in heavy industry and steel fabrication would be an advantage.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
